
#Tokyo2020 Viewership of Poland - France and final week volleyball games
The quarter-final meeting of the Polish and French volleyball teams during the Olympic competition attracted a large crowd of fans in front of the screens. The match, which ended with the defeat of the Poles, was watched by fans mainly through TV broadcasts, internet services and on-line streams.

TVP1 was the most watched broadcast of the match. In the first week of August, a fairly constant trend in viewership is visible (the highest on the day of the Poland-France match, when the station was watched by over 11 million people, generating a reach of 34% (compared to 3 million less real users the day before). Average time spent with medium was almost 3 hours on August 3. TVP1 was also very popular on August 6-7, when fans watched Brazil-Argentina game (for the bronze medal) and France-ROC (for gold). The station was watched by a comparable number of men and women (about 50% each).

The viewership is similar in the case of TVP Sport, which is part of the TVP group. In the week of August 2-8, we see a stable number of real users (consistently above 3.5 million). Most people watched TVP Sport on August 3 (the Poland-France match) and August 7 (the final match).

Almost 3.5 million real users watched the Poland-France match at Eurosport 1 on August 3, generating 10% reach. The average contact time with the station was over 2 hours. In the week of August 2-8 (the week of the final games) Eurosport 1 had almost 8.9 million real users, with a reach of almost 27%. The average time of contact with broadcasts was over 4 hours. Men were more likely to watch Eurosport 1 (almost 60%). Slightly over 40% of women sat in front of televisions.

The Poland-France match as well as other matches in the final week were also reported on the internet portal sportowefakty.wp.pl, which is part of the WP group. In the week of August 2-8, the website was visited by over 6.7 million real users, generating a reach of over 20% and almost 85 million views. Men slightly predominated among the visitors to the portal (55%). Women accounted for approx. 45% of the real users of the website.
