
Female rather than male university students prevail online
According to the European Commission 2013 strategy, the number of university students will have globally risen to 400m in 2030. In 2000 they constituted a quarter of that number, i.e. 100m. Increasingly popular activities are studying abroad, taking part in a wide variety of international exchange programmes, maintaining contacts all over the globe. Considerable share of students participate in projects promoting multiculturalism and student activism. Gemius has decided to analyse data on internet users who attend universities in 19 countries. The data quoted originates from an international project (gemiusAudience) conducted by Gemius in more than 30 countries. It aims to research into the number and demographic profile of internet users and the manner in which they utilize the web. The study is performed according to Gemius proprietary hybrid methodology and in accordance with the ICC/ESOMAR international code of conduct.
