Another Lithuanian website joins the one million internet users club

In Lithuania, where almost 1.9 million people (74 per cent of country’s population aged 7-74) can be reached online, the biggest website is a news portal delfi.lt, which was visited by 1 164 114 PC users, 423 000 phone users and 173 670 tablet users (July data). Delfi.lt was the first Lithuanian website that reached a million Internet users (in September of 2007).

Gryta Balserytė, regional manager for both Lithuanian and Latvian branches of Gemius and industry expert, explains that July was an eventful month and that brought bigger audiences to websites not only in Lithuania: “Lithuania and the whole world followed the events of global significance. This led to the fact that 15min.lt news portal crossed the one million internet users threshold for the first time and the Latvian gemiusAudience project got a new leader. On the other hand, in July there was a number of big entertainment events in Lithuania, including local celebrity weddings, which are always interesting for certain social groups.”
