Android still on top

Android is the most popular operating system for mobile devices in Poland. Microsoft products are still the Polish internet users’ favourites.

On a year-to-year basis, it was Android that gained most, with its online traffic share increasing fourfold (from 2 per cent to 7 per cent). Its main competitors also noted some growth: iOS (from 1 per cent to 2 per cent) and Windows Phone 8, which made its market debut in October 2012 (increase up to 0.4 per cent).

The operating system the internet users use most often remains Windows 7 (47 per cent of online traffic). As it was last year, the second position is taken by Windows XP (26 per cent), and Windows Vista (7 per cent) comes third. The most considerable growth year-to year – almost sixfold – was noted for Windows 8, launched in late October 2012 (increase to 6 per cent). On the other hand, the most dramatic fall, by nearly one-third, was recorded for Windows XP (from 36 per cent to 26 per cent).
