Ukraine: one in four internet users accesses the internet on mobile

What does the total audience in Ukraine look like? And what kind of devices do Ukrainians use to access the internet? Check out the new Gemius analysis.

Since October 2015 it has been possible to collect data from all devices, with intersection and socio-demographic data on PC, mobile phone/smartphone and tablet internet users.

So, what do we now know about Ukrainian internet users? The research results show that the total audience in Ukraine is 20.1 million. 18.3 million people use computers or laptops to access the internet, 5.1 million use mobile phones or smartphones, and 1.8 million use tablets.

– The internet audience is rapidly going mobile – says Lesya Prus, industry expert and head of the Ukrainian branch of Gemius. – Gemius is meeting the needs of the market and has made changes in the internet audience study – we now publish data divided into different platforms, as well as total figures on the Internet as a whole. Such information will definitely expand the opportunities for advertisers to plan their online campaigns more effectively, and for publishers to sell their space more efficiently – comments Prus.

About the research

The data comes from gemiusAudience, an international research project conducted by Gemius in around 30 countries in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. It aims to determine the number and demographic profile of internet users and to learn about the ways in which they use the internet: websites, audio and video material, or applications. The research is carried out in compliance with the international code of conduct ICC/ESOMAR.
